Providing psychological support
Through our Counselling Psychologist, Dr Hannah Webb, we are able to provide psychological support for children and young people within our homes. This focuses on therapeutic parenting, attachment theory and positive role modelling.
Hannah and the wider team use PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) to work with the children to overcome challenges in their lives and help them build self-worth and resilience.
Contact usIndividual care tailored to each child
Psychological support is provided on a case-by-case basis. Hannah works with the home manager to identify ways to help the child overcome difficulties. This can involve gathering information from a variety of sources, meeting with parents, teachers and siblings, and observing the child in their home. This helps to build a picture of what is happening and how we can best support the child.
Hannah will then work with the care home team and the young person to agree a plan and help them to achieve their goals.
Helping children to feel safe, happy and confident
We believe in the importance of keeping the young person at the centre of everything we do and working in a way that best meets their needs. We want to ensure that each child feels safe, healthy, happy and confident through the development of resilience, self-esteem, emotional intelligence and good physical health.
