Trainer

Description

Role: TRAINER

Location: Ringwood (BH24) with Hybrid working
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week, typically Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Some flexibility will be required for occasional evenings and weekends.

At Beaufort Education & Care (BEC), we’ve been delivering exceptional residential care to children and young people for over 20 years. And we’re growing! With two new children’s homes opening soon, there’s never been a more exciting time to join us.

We’re seeking an experienced Trainer to deliver a variety of training programmes, including our new Proactive Approach course. You will be someone with a strong value base rooted in protecting the rights and promoting the interests of children and young people, with a deep understanding of trauma-informed practice using Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) and PACE.

About the Role

As our new Trainer, you will report directly to the Head of People and Culture, taking full ownership of our training function—from designing and delivery, to evaluation and compliance. You’ll create and lead training programmes that inspire our teams and meet the highest standards set by Ofsted and our own expectations.

Our new Trainer will be able to easily grasp the training requirements of the residential childcare sector and deliver training in a way that is inspiring, engaging and meaningful to our audience of Childcare Support Workers, managers and other team members.

Typically, our programme of training covers a wide variety of topics that allow our teams to deliver excellent therapeutic childcare. Themes of training include Safeguarding, Trauma Informed Practice, Child Attachment and so much more! An insight into ‘our world’ will be advantageous to your application.

Key responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering engaging, relevant training across the organisation to groups of adults with various backgrounds and training needs
  • Leading our training calendar, ensuring everything runs smoothly, on time, and in line with our values; helping us to achieve maximum attendance levels across the organisation
  • Acting as the ‘go to’ expert for all things training – partnering the business, supporting teams, liaising with external providers, and ensuring high levels of compliance
  • Gathering feedback, adapting content, and constantly improving the training and learning experience
  • Managing training records, reports, and audits with precision and professionalism

About you

Perhaps you are already a Manager or Supervisor in the residential childcare sector? Maybe you are looking for a career change to elevate your training responsibility, sharing your knowledge and skills with others?

We will only consider applications from candidates who have relevant, current experience in the Childcare, Social Care or Healthcare sectors; experience of working with vulnerable groups is essential.

It is important that you can evidence your skill and experience in creating and leading high quality training programmes, specifically related to adult learning.

In addition, you will:

  • Hold a recognised training qualification, e.g., PTLLS, AET Level 3, CIPD in L&D
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, professional can-do attitude with a great sense of humour!
  • Be a ‘stand-out’ presenter, comfortable in taking centre stage to deliver memorable training programmes
  • Be a strong communicator with a high standard of written and spoken English
  • Desire and drive to achieve high quality training results
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office; Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle

Your rewards

  • Competitive salary, reviewed annually
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • Long-service awards up to £2,000
  • Blue Light Card – company-funded
  • Employee Assistance Programme for wellbeing support and advice
  • Career progression and ongoing professional development
  • The chance to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people
