Deputy Manager – Residential Childcare
£41,000 per annum + sleep-in enhancements | 40 hours per week | Southampton

Beaufort Care Group is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join our children’s home in West End, Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Registered Manager, lead a dedicated team and help create positive outcomes for children.
What you’ll do
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Lead and inspire the team to deliver safe, nurturing and therapeutic care.
- Champion safeguarding and ensure children’s voices are heard.
- Support placement planning and the educational, physical, social and emotional development of each child.
- Maintain high standards of recording, administration and regulatory compliance.
- Work with families, professionals and external agencies.
- Role-model best practice and provide support during challenging situations.
- Participate in the management on-call rota.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have at least 2 years’ supervisory/team leader experience in residential childcare, strong safeguarding knowledge and an understanding of Ofsted, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
You’ll hold Level 3/4 in Children, Young People and Families (or equivalent) and be motivated to progress towards Level 5 Management & Leadership.
Experience supporting children aged 6–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties is essential. Knowledge of PACE, attachment theory and play therapy would be an advantage.
You’ll be a confident communicator, organised, resilient and passionate about helping children thrive.
A full UK driving licence and ability to travel to homes across Hampshire/Dorset and Head Office in Ringwood are essential.
